Pantanal Jam brings the Pantanal to the international stage uniting music, conservation and social impact

The sound of the Pantanal gained international prominence with the arrival of Pantanal Jam, a project that connects contemporary jazz, the sounds of nature, and environmental conservation.

Featuring performances by the award-winning Brazilian group Urbem and the participation of renowned American trombonist Ryan Keberle, Pantanal Jam offers an immersive experience that translates the essence of the Pantanal biome through music. The nine original compositions incorporate sound recordings of wildlife, landscapes, and the waters of the Pantanal, with recordings made within the territory itself, expanding the dialogue between art, nature, and nature conservation.

More than a musical project, Pantanal Jam is consolidated as a platform for raising awareness of the Pantanal biome by giving visibility to the work of NGOs that operate in the protection of biodiversity and the strengthening of local communities. The event stage also becomes a space for exchange, with discussion circles, workshops, and exhibitions that present stories, challenges, and achievements of the institutions involved.

Among the organizations highlighted are Instituto SOS Pantanal, Instituto Homem Pantaneiro (IHP), Instituto Arara Azul, and Onçafari, national references in conservation actions, environmental education, wildfire prevention and combat, and the protection of endangered species. Part of the revenue generated by the project will be allocated to supporting these initiatives, contributing to actions such as community fire brigades, ecological restoration, wildlife rehabilitation, and environmental education programs.

“Pantanal Jam presents itself as a bridge between art, nature, and conservation, capable of touching people and strengthening the identity of the Pantanal and its communities,” emphasizes the Tourism Foundation of Mato Grosso do Sul.

By bringing the Pantanal to the center of one of the world’s leading cultural hubs, the project reinforces the potential of culture as a tool for global awareness and positions the biome as a symbol of biodiversity, sustainability, and nature tourism on the global stage.
